the elephant man is the new hannah montana

well, not quite that literally, but distorted saline injections are the new trend in body modification among kids in the japanese punk scene. i feel like i’ve understood every bit of body modification, from tattoos to tongue splitting, until encountering this new phenomenon.

it’s called Body Inflation, and i guess the objective is having an alienlike look, like a klingon or some crap, but it just seems kind of ridiculous to me. It’s not permanent, which is why so many people are hopping on the bandwagon, but i’m not too big on putting foreign crap in my bloodstream to look cool. i’m also kind of of the opinion that it’s probably a good idea to wait a good ten years or so to see if a new medical trend ends up causing thousands of people to suffer from exploding brains somewhere along the line or whatever.

but to actually liken yourself to someone like the elephant man is just kind of fucked up all around.
