pizza hut’s on that bullshit now, too

so pizza hut was losing a bunch of money as a dual result of the recession and americans’ recent popular need for impractical, circuitous, half-assed ways to live healthier these days, so in the hopes of making it somewhat “cooler” and tricking adults into thinking it’s somehow healthier at the same time, the chain has decided to change its name to The Hut.

pizza hutThe Hut’s representatives also claim that they’re going to try to appeal to older adults by conceding to their requests for multigrain crusts and all-natural tomato sauce to make it feel less like pizza and more like healthy pizza or some garbage.

i’m not sure why so many people don’t get the concept that changing the name of a food that’s bad for you will not mean that the food is somehow automatically LESS bad for you as a result. Kentucky Fried Chicken pulled that bullshit a few years ago by changing their business to KFC, even though they were still selling the same fried damn chicken… but apparently people just couldn’t cope with the fact that they were going to buy greasy, fried, genetically modified meat, so the company changed the name so said people could feel better about themselves while shoveling it by the bucketful down their throats.

sadly, this actually did work for KFC, because people are just that stupid.
