no. NO more ay-rab money.

i commented before on Busta Rhymes’ “Arab Money” performance a few months ago, but when i saw the actual video, i almost threw up in my mouth.

the chorus is fucked, the video is fucked, and no one seems to take into account the fact that, if this was the other way around, folks would be rioting. I dare someone to make a “Nigger Money” video and see if they don’t die.

perhaps one could say it’s a veiled compliment, as in, Arabs have a lot of money, so i’m really bigging them up cause i want to be like them. But you’re still fucking with religion and race, so that argument doesn’t have much weight. And one also knows good and damn well an artist would have to call on the most picked-on race of the year to make a hit song without repercussion, because “Jew Paper” would never fly.

i get it, i sound like a hater, but fair is fair. At the end of the day, we all know that if a less-popular rapper, or anyone else of another race, made a song using the derogatory phrasing for another race with a chorus that sounds like mock chanting, Al Sharpton and whoeverthehell else would be trying to get those fools put in jail.

Rik Cordero produced the video. Isn’t he filipino? So if Busta was like, “yo son, i need you to produce a video for my new single, ‘Chinese Wetback Bling,’” you think he’d say yes? Just wondering.

i still love busta and will buy all his albums, but damn, son. You know that was completely unnecessary. I’m half hoping some Arabs band together in protest just to prove a point.

I’m feeling you. Someone already has referenced “Jew paper” Jadakiss’ line in ‘All About the Benjamins’ says “You should do what we do, stack chips like Hebrews.” Coincidentally, it’s one of the 10 lines in the song bleeped on the radio…YES I counted! =)

There’s no such thing as Responsible Racism…or (to address your Prince post) well-meaning homophobia. Can we get off the high horse already? I swear our Uncle Tomming runs deeper than we even know. Dumb ass shit…

i <3 you and your writing way too much. This is very real and something i questioned myself. The whole idea of a song like, “N!gger Money–it’s not green its white”….would have troves of people headed to march and protest about it. But yet, this gets the OK. It even has an appeal in its catchiness, dare I say I have bounced to the beat on it but herein lies a deeper issue that no one is seeming to address..smh

    :/
    consciously unconscious…

i’m an arab muslim, and its not so much this song that i have a problem with as it is the remix. the remix takes actual verses of the quran and puts it over music. normally, i let things slide real easy, but that is just too much.

I truly agree with those who take the song offensively. Only to those who are true believers in Islam can understand. The artist involved may or may not know that what there saying has no estimation with Allah(s.w.t). Of course shaytan, and those who follow these corruptions by way of inducing controversey by using racsim to define the origin of what was writtien in the book of Allah will not be able to make them hear unless Allah(s.w.t.) Allows. Remember artist/musicians, whom Allah(s.w.t.) had cause to hear Cat Stevens and many others alike As-Saalamu Ala’ikum
